General Questions

We typically sail from Raby Bay Harbour, Cleveland so as we can access the best swimming and sailing locations in Moreton Bay. We may also be able to depart from Dunwich (North Stradbroke Island) or Manly Boat Harbour.

It depends on what length of time your yacht charter is and which direction the breeze is blowing. Generally, we like to spend most of our sailing days in the majestic Horseshoe Bay, Peel Island which offers pristine clear water for swimming and white sandy beaches. This National Park Island is only accessible by private boat. Other destinations include Bird Island, North Stradbroke Island, St Helena Island, King Island and Coochiemudlo Island.

Cleveland is only 40 minutes drive from the Brisbane CBD and is easily accessible by either car or train. We can also recommend a great charter bus company.

Yes, parking is available either in the Cleveland train station or on Masthead Dv. Please avoid parking in the Hog’s Breath Restaurant precinct as vehicles have been towed in the past.

In the event of bad weather we will re-schedule to another date which suits both parties. it’s important for us to give you the best possible experience so you’ll join us for future sailing escapes. Generally, the weather in sunny Queensland is excellent, with us only needing to re-scheduling approximately 1 in 20 charters.

We ask passengers who test positive (or suspect the might have) COVID-19/influenza to stay at home in consideration of others.

Aristocat is a large catamaran (two hulls) which boasts great stability. The yacht does not lean over nor roll like single hull vessels so it’s unlikely you’ll feel seasick. In addition, we operate in sheltered waters protected by Moreton Island and North Stradbroke Island. However, if you have a known history of seasickness, we recommend you visit your local pharmacy for advice/remedies before the charter.

Alcohol is BYO but only permitted in moderation. Given we are operating a sailing yacht with the sails, ropes and the yacht moving in different directions, it’s very important that all guests are well aware of what’s going on around them. We also provide various water based activities which obviously don’t mix well with heavy alcohol consumption.  Bottles of straight spirits and liquors are not permitted onboard. Beer, wine, cidar and pre-mixed cans are welcome.

Yes, we provide a large 100L esky with ice. Your welcome to bring one or two additional eskies but please limit them to medium size for ease of storage. Our two fridges are also available for your drink/food storage.
